Terracina

Terracina è una splendida cittadina laziale, in Provincia di Latina, adagiata lungo la costa del Mar Tirreno, sulla sua meravigliosa spiaggia di sabbia dorata lunga circa 5 km,denominata "La Riviera di Ulisse"

L'armonia dei suoi colori caldi nelle sue bellezze naturali, con le colline che, la circondano e l'azzurro intenso del suo mare, il clima mite con la sua aria speciale, nonché, il fascino del mito, hanno reso la città, famosa per le vacanze, fin dai tempi dell'Impero Romano, conferendole il titolo "Porta del Sole".

La città è composta da due nuclei abitativi, uniti, ma, distinti fra loro. Il primo, è il Centro Storico sviluppato sul pendio della collina, in epoca medievale, sulle vestigia della antica città, dell' Impero Romano. L'altro, in età moderna, dal 1700 ad oggi, si estende in pianura, adagiata lungo la costa marina, formando così, una gradevole fusione di stili. Dai resti di un antico Tempio Romano dedicato al dio Giove Anxur, posto sul Monte Sant'Angelo, si può godere una meravigliosa ed incantevole visuale su tutta la città e sul mare aperto, fino alle isole Pontine ed altre città del Golfo.

Le sue origini legate alla pratica della pesca e della cultura contadina, hanno tramandato ad oggi, molte tradizioni enogastronomiche, di grande valore. Le specialità culinarie con i prodotti della terra e del mare, accompagnati dall'ottimo vino DOC, prodotto con uva locale "Moscato di Terracina", sono delizia del palato e gustoso piacere per i degustatori.

Terracina is a beautiful town in Lazio, in the Province of Latina, lies along the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea, on its beautiful golden sandy beach of about 5 km long, known as "The Riviera of Ulysses."

The harmony of its warm colors in its natural beauty, with hills that surround it and the intense blue of its sea, its mild climate with its special flair and the charm of the myth, have made the city, famous for holidays, since the time of the Roman Empire, giving it the title "The Gate of the Sun."

The city is composed of two distinct residential nucleus, but, united with each other. The first, is the Historical Center developed on the slope of the hill, in medieval times, on the ruins of the ancient city of Imperial Rome. The other, in the modern era, from 1700 to today, is in the plains, lies along the sea, forming a pleasent fusion of styles. From the ruins of an ancient Roman temple dedicated to the god Jupiter, located on Monte Sant'Angelo, one can enjoy a wonderful and enchanting view over the city and the open sea, to the Pontine islands and other cities in the Gulf.

Its origins linked to the practice of fisheries and land culture, have handed, at today, many enogastronomic traditions of great value. The culinary delights, made with the products of land and of sea, with a prestigious wine, produced DOC, made with local grape "Moscato di Terracina", are a very delight of the palate and a great pleasure for those who relished.
